About this blog

Hello and welcome to my new obsession! Mammalwatching is like birdwatching, but with fur rather than feathers. Briefly, the goal is to see as many mammals as possible, in a wild setting, getting a photograph if possible.

The leading webpage for this quest is Jon Hall’s www.mammalwatching.com which is a great starting and reference place; where you can download a list of the world’s mammals, read trip reports from other mammal watchers, learn about resources which may help, and make contact with the like minded.

There are also useful Facebook groups to encourage and connect with mammal watchers: Australian Mammal Watching, North American Mammal Watching, and Mammal Watching Europe to name some.

Then come back here and follow my clumsy but enthusiastic efforts to see mammals in the wild!
